Description:

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm, weekends and federal holidays off.

Overview:

This position is located at the Cedar City Ranger District of the Dixie National Forest. Applicants for this position will be the first point of contact communicating with the public via phone, email, and in-person. They will provide crucial information about the forest and the district and be involved with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Greets customers warmly.
  • Provides information about Forest recreational activities; hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, trail riding, etc.
  • Keeps apprised of any District projects; prescribed fires, timber logging, tree planting, trail work, closed areas, etc.
  • Will become a Certified Collection Officer, will be asked to sell maps, park passes, timber product permits and Smokey Bear Merchandise.
  • Accountability and Responsibility is required.

Qualifications:

  • Have a good attitude!
  • Must be willing to learn new skills and retain information to pass on to the public.
  • Basic knowledge of computer and administrative skills.
  • Be able to show up daily, ready to work, and show commitment.
